Project Scope:
As the Port continues to invest in its facilities to attract and retain tenants that bring private investment and employment opportunities to the region, it sees the increasing urgency of addressing environmental sustainability and climate resiliency.
Funded by the State Planning and Research Program of the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Plan will help the Port identify opportunities to reduce emissions, conserve energy, and be resilient to extreme weather events. It will also provide the data and support needed to seek funding for these opportunities.
The selected consultant team will complete the following scope of work:
Conduct inclusive community engagement
Create a baseline greenhouse gas emissions inventory
Set goals regarding emissions reductions, energy efficiency, and climate resilience
Identify priority projects to achieve the above goals
Establish the fiscal impact of priority projects
Identify potential funding sources for priority projects.
